What Are You Reading?

LeadRead

We are officially in the winter season this side of the equator! Time to get some needed personal growth and enjoyment from reading! What are you reading? As I suffer through this cruel and harsh winter (High 70’s to low 80’s) in Brasil, I want to share a small list of what I have read lately. I read using a Kindle app on all my devices. Whether I have my iPad, iPhone or laptop accessible, I always have a book ready. Kindle synchs my books to the furthest read section, so I’m always ready to pick up where I left off. This also gives me the ability to read multiple books simultaneously.

SUPERNATURAL  ABUNDANCE  A Journey To he Father’s House  by Leif Hetland

This is an excellent read. It is divided into two parts. In the first part the author, Leif Hetland takes you through the story of the prodigal son in a modern setting and through the eyes of the older brother. The focus is on biblical truths that highlight the unconditional love the Father has for His children.

The second part is a practical teaching that reveals to the reader the possibilities and results of being aligned with the heart of the Father. And His heart is for you!

The INTERCESSOR’S HANDBOOK Navigating The Spiritual Realm In Prayer  by Jennifer Eivaz

I was thrilled to receive this book when my wife Bernice returned from a conference at Harvest Christian Center in Turlock, CA. It was an actual book- you know, the kind that you actually touch paper while you turn the pages and have a paper bookmark….. totally foreign and refreshing. This book can be used as a reference tool or for required reading in a ministry school. If you desire to have an understanding on how prayer brings transformation and change, read this book. It doesn’t read like a boring text book.

It is packed with biblical truths, true stories and revelatory nuggets that will challenge you and inspire you to go deeper into prayer. Jennifer speaks through the Word as well as her personal experiences. A must read! And, she mentions me and my wife. (Shameless plug)

DARING TO LIVE ON THE EDGE  The Adventure of Faith and Finances  by Loren Cunningham

This is an older book published in 1992. I cannot believe I accidentally ran across this. It must have been a set up. Thank you Jesus! Everybody who has an interest in advancing the Kingdom needs to read this book. It brings perspectives from the giver and the receiver and will challenge you to become both. If you are a missionary– read this book! If you are a donor–read this book! A priceless resource that will change the way you think. This book brings a biblical perspective backed by testimony after testimony of God’s faithfulness. And talk about credibility. Loren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM, missionary travels has taken him to every nation on earth. I would say he has voice and authority on the matter of faith.
